Set Vs. Apophis

Legends speak about Set being a mighty god who was once both a king and warrior. His legendary skills at fighting brought him to the attention of Ra, who gave him the job of defending his barge from the great serpent Apophis who attempted to swallow the sun each night.
Despite the fact that his position was granted to him because of his strength, Set believed that he was given the position merely to be placated for his loss of the throne to Horus, and by the betrayal of Isis and Nepthys. So it came to be, that he conspired with the dark serpent Aphophis, hoping to find a way to get his throne back, and to betray Ra.
In fear, or in anger, Ra cursed Set and all his line for his betrayal.
It is said that Apophis himself taught Set the gift of Serpentis, yet others say that Set tore the ability of the serpents from Apophis himself. Regardless, while Set plotted with Apophis, the evil within him was slowly beginning to take form. Even Set, who was the main conspirator is constantly fighting against the urges of Apophis to reign in his destructive urges. It is believed that Set became known as a corruptor after losing his ability to reproduce, and his pride. He was once seen as a king-in-exile, someone who's trust was abused, and whose livelihood was destroyed. For him to become a corruptor and spread his anger and betrayal to all seemed the only right thing to do.SIDE NOTE - Set was known as Canaan as Baal, which is a title meaning Lord. This has no connection with the Baali. In fact, the Setites generally purge those who worship demons from the Clan, finding them to be infidels and heretics. There is NO Lost love between the Baali and the Followers of Set.

THE ENEMIES OF SET
Thoth - Seen as a keeper of Ma'at, yet at the same time, one who is an observer and a wise council. Enemy if you meet him, he's cool if you don't.
Isis - Respected for her wisdom and guilde…even if she did win the throne for Horus.
